What Real Strength Looks Like: Getting Help
Dear Readers,
Let’s clear something up right now:
Struggling doesn’t make you weak.
Needing help doesn’t make you broken.
Getting support isn’t something to be ashamed of — it’s strength in its rawest form.
We live in a culture that rewards the hustle. We’re praised for “toughing it out,” for being independent, for staying quiet and handling things behind the scenes.
But at some point, silence starts to feel like suffocation.
And the strongest thing you can do… is breathe anyway.
Some of us grew up thinking we had to survive everything on our own. We weren’t taught how to talk about pain. We were taught how to pretend.
Smile through it.
Pray through it — but don’t ask for help.
Push it down and keep going.
But God never called us to be superheroes. He called us to be human — to lean on Him and the people He’s placed in our lives to walk beside us.
“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)
There is no shame in therapy.
No weakness in needing counseling.
No failure in asking someone, “Can you help me through this?”
Whether it’s emotional, spiritual, or even physical — healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in community, with guidance, prayer, and sometimes yes, professional help too.
If you’re waiting for a sign that it’s okay to talk to someone — this is it.
Go to counseling.
Open up to someone you trust.
Find a faith-based therapist.
Tell the truth about what hurts.
You don’t have to be fixed to be loved.
You don’t have to be perfect to deserve peace.
You just have to be willing to begin.
I’ve always believed in the power of faith — but I’m learning that faith works best when it walks hand in hand with action.
Yes, I believe God can heal anything. But sometimes His healing comes through the courage it takes to walk into a counselor’s office, tell the truth, and let someone walk beside you.
It’s not easy.
But it’s necessary.
And it’s a holy kind of brave.
So if today you’re tired of carrying it alone, I want you to know:
It’s not weakness.
It’s wisdom.
It’s real strength.
You’re not giving up.
You’re leveling up.
With strength and surrender,
Just Catrina
